Getting out of the House During the Pandemic

We have continued to have fun adventures while we are isolating from others.  After out last post we tried to do something fun every Saturday.  On April 11 we took Tammy and JJ out to the site with the petrified tree and dinosaur bone.  Since we already posted pictures of out trip with the Flavels, we didn't take a lot of pictures. Here is Tammy enjoying the petrified tree.

The following week we took them out to John's Canyon.  Again, we didn't take a lot of pictures as we have been there so many times.
This picture we did take has a Kokopel leaning back playing a flute.  Above it is where someone in modern days carved their name and year.  Apparently the BLM scratched it.

After John's Canyon, we went out to the San Juan River beyond where the Goosenecks State Park is located.

On April 25 JJ and Tammy had a funeral, so we took our friend Denise Black to Goblin Valley.  It was hers and my first time there, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

On our way there, we enjoyed the scenery including the Colorado River Bridge near Lake Powell

This is the river running toward Lake Powell.  The picture is taken from the overlook over the area.

There was an opening in this group of rocks so here is Gary posing tin the "window."

This is the parking lot. Obviously a lot of people were anxious to get out the first weekend the state parks were opened up.

The following week Tammy was not feeling well, so we canceled and did our next adventure on May 9 when we took our side-by-sides out to Castle Wash.
Tammy got this picture of us as we came up a hill.

The trail in the wash area was very sandy

There were quite a few wild flowers in bloom like the red one in the top center

These bushes were in full bloom and smelled heavenly

Up on top we could see out over the canyon and catch a glimpse of Lake Powell,

A second picture of the canyon from a little different perspective

A pretty yellow wildflower

Indian paintbrush

This is hard to see, but there is a bluebell just to the right of center.

These strange red circles were scattered everywhere in the rocks.  No idea what they were.
