A visit from Gerritt and Melissa's Kids!!

From August 14 through 21 we had Gerritt and Melissa's kids while Melissa was helping her mom after knee surgery.  The kids were so good, and we had a wonderful time!

On our first full day we went out to explore the sights of Blanding.  We started with the Nations of the Four Corners park at the college.  The kids enjoyed sitting in the old covered wagon..
standing in front of the old manure spreader..
                                                going into the rock tower....
looking down through the grating from the top of the tower..

and exploring the difference villages.
/                They especially enjoyed the tepees.
Later that day we went to the dinosaur museum which they enjoyed playing in.

We then went to the Cedar Mesa Pottery factory and took a self-guided tour.

The next day we went to Bluff Fort where we had a blast dressing up as pioneers.

The kids enjoyed the log horses and really enjoyed visiting the pioneer cabins.

From Bluff Fort we went on to Four Corners.  They thought it was so cool to stand in four states at once!
We took a day to just rest up at home and Grandpa Gary enjoyed giving them all a ride in Babe.
                                                             They all loved it!

Another day we went out on 95 and saw the Mule Canyon Ruins,
                                                 Bridges National Monument,
And the Goosenecks of the San Juan
We came back through Valley of the Gods.  Abby especially enjoyed imagining the rock formations were different things.  She said she liked that day better than any of the others.
The entire week was a great adventure for all of us!
