Grandkids!

We had a delightful visit from Jim, Rebecca, Emily, and Jared.  They arrived on Thursday evening and on Friday we went to San Juan Hill.

The kids climbed San Juan Hill, and we got pictures, but somehow I lost them and erased everything off the SD card before I realized they weren't with these.  This shows the petroglyphs and ruins at the River House ruins.
And this is the River House Ruins with Jared, Rebecca, Emily, and me.
As we were leaving, several cows had chosen the road to rest in.  Guess the soft sand must have been comfortable.

Tanner, Sara, and Hyrum arrived on Friday at dinner time. On Saturday we took them to Bridges, Mule Canyon Ruins, Moki Dugway, Goosenecks and Bluff.
Here we are at Bridges enjoying the view.

We enjoyed a picnic lunch while we were still in the bridges park.

Here we are at the Goosenecks of the San Juan

On Saturday evening Sara made a cake for the sex reveal of their expected baby.

When they cut it open, out spilled pink and purple beads! It's a girl!

On Sunday we all went to Monticello for Jack's blessing.  This picture had too much light, but it is four generations, Tammy, Jayden, Jack, and Gary.

And here I am feeding Hyrum after lunch at JJ and Tammy's.

We then drove to Provo where we spent the night and then met Gerritt and Melissa and spent Monday with them.

Our first stop was at an ice cream shop where Melissa got a special doughnut.

Caitlin, Abby Grandpa Gary, and Ben

We walked across the street and saw the Provo City Center Temple.  It was Monday, so we couldn't go inside the gates, but we could see everything we wanted to see.

We then went to the Monte L. Bean Museum on the BYU Campus. The kids loved it.  This picture is blurry, but you can see a snake painted on the stairs slithering between the kids.

Grandma trying to open her mouth as wide as the hippo.

Gerritt and all the kids showing their big mouths!

Caitlin playing with the ant farm.  The ants were metal discs and they had magnets on sticks so the kids could move them around the ant farm.

The whole family posing by the moose statue.
We went to Kwint and Gina's house that evening where we had dinner and Family Home Evening.  Here we all are:  Kwint, Gary, Abby, Ben, Kaeleb, Gina, Caitlin, Brennan, Gerritt, and Melissa.
We had a wonderful time enjoying grandkids and kids on both sides of our family!

Visit to Marie and Virgil

On Wednesday, March 21, we drove to Hyde Park to visit my sister, Marie and her husband, Virgil.
After dinner we drove out to Clarkston a few miles away and visited the Martin Harris grave.

 The grave marker
An inscription giving the details of his life.
A view of the cemetery from his grave
The amphitheater where they hold a pageant about his life.

The next morning we went to the Logan Temple.
It was raining so, while Virgil went for the car, we got pictures..  Marie and me.
 Gary and me
When Virgil came with car, we went around and they posed by the tree where they got engaged 50 years ago. That evening our grandson, Brett, came to the Pugsleys and had dinner with us.  The next morning we drove out to Park Valley.  As we were driving around Snowville, we saw these zebras!

As we left the freeway and drove out into rural Box Elder County, we saw this bald eagle
Before we got to the town, we visited the cemetery where Virgil has many ancestors and his parents

We drove around and saw some of the original home sites that are now falling down

This is the old store that is now closed.
This stone house was built by Virgil's grea grandfather in the 1880s
